Pool Care Tips

MACHINE NOT CLIMBING WALLS

  1. Make sure the valve in the weir is clean.
  2. Backwash and rinse the system.
  3. Check footpad (Check if there are still blocks present on the footpad)
  4. Check the suction seal (Lay the seal on a flat surface – if the seal does not lie flat, the seal needs to be replaced)
  5. Check the weir and the pump baskets for leaves.
  6. Check the return line for air bubbles (If bubbles are visible – please contact the pool shop)

NB! REMOVE LEAF CATCHER BEFORE CHECKING FOR AIR BUBBLES.

MACHINE STICKING IN CORNERS

  1. Shorten the bumper strap (Pull the bumper strap out of the flange on top, cut off 4cm of the top of bumper strap and place the strap back into the flange)
  2. Add extended dive float restrictor (Obtain an extended dive float restrictor at POOLSERVE)
  3. Adjust  the return line (Adjust the flow of the water to push the machine away from the corner)
  4. Add a guide wheel (Obtain a guide wheel at any Pool shop  – for certain machines only)

MACHINE MOVING SLOWLY OR NOT AT ALL

  8. Run the system on BYPASS / CIRCULATION (If the machine works better, your filter sand needs to be replaced)
  9. Check the throat of the machine for debris.

MACHINE FLOATING / LIFTING

  1. Check the hoses for memory / bends (If so, soak the hoses in a bath of hot water, slide the hoses over a pole and leave it in the sun for the day, then reconnect the hoses)  NB:  Make sure your hoses are genuine Kreepy Krauly / Baracuda hoses.
  2. Balance the machine (Take the machine to the shalow end with the system off, and looking at the hose weight closest to the machine.  Move the weight up and down until the suction seal lies flat)
  3. Make sure the swivel on the machine is rotating freely.
  4. Add mainbody weights (Obtain main body weights at any Pool shop)
